LEGISLATED REQUIREMENTS FOR CABIN CREW MEMBER LICENSING TRAINING:
To operate as a cabin crew member on a South African registered aircraft you are required to be in possession of a cabin crew member’s license which is issued by the South African Civil Aviation Authority of South Africa (SACAA). Our cabin crew member licensing course covers all the training modules required by the SACAA for the licensing of flight attendants. Our training exceeds regulatory requirements as we have a fully operable aircraft on our premises at Denel which allows learning to take place in a lifelike environment and our aircraft visits are more frequent than the legislation requires.
All our regulatory training modules are more restrictive than is required by the South African Civil Aviation Authority of South Africa (SACAA):
- Theoretical and Practical modules relating to Aviation Medicine
- Theoretical Safety policies and procedures
- Air Law
- Practical Emergency Procedures inclusive of use of Emergency and survival equipment, Ditching and Survival Training, Live Fire Fighting, Evacuation from an aircraft
- Practical and Theoretical Aircraft Type Training
- Security
- Carriage of Dangerous Goods by air
- Crew Resource Management
Our soft skills training modules include:
- Interviewing skills
- Grooming training is presented by the famous M-Net's “glam guru” company consultants.
- Basic preparation for the workplace and although no training organisation can promise employment, we definitely guide and prepare our learners for the life of a flight attendant with numerous airlines.
Our courses take place over a 6 week period and we have two courses commencing every month.
The course cost is R15 000 and covers all costs inclusive of the license examination and the license on successful completion of all the modules. Our prices are more reasonable than many of our competitors as we have a fully operable aircraft on our premises and we are not responsible for paying for accommodation or for hiring of an aircraft. We require 50% of the fee up front (on registration and after our learners have been found medically fit) and 50% 4 weeks after commencing with training.
